Vitamin D

Vitamin D will be produced by the skin as a response of contact with the sunlight. However, vitamin D can also be found in cereal products and fortified dairy products.

That is why people who do not eat gluten might find it difficult to fulfill their vitamin D need.

It is unfortunate that people will not find the foods which naturally contain vitamin D although they can consider cold water fish such as sockeys salmon and swordfish as a great source of vitamin D. An egg yolk can also fulfill a small amount of daily vitamin D need.

It is suggested for people looking for the fortified dairy products and fortified orange juice to get more intake of vitamin D.

It means that they have to read the label first to make sure that the foods and drinks come with the essential vitamins for people who have celiac disease.

People should also pay attention to their calcium intake besides the important vitamins for celiac disease.
